Our Board & Board Committees
Members of the Board of Directors of the WIC Association of New York State are elected from all four geographic regions of the state: Metropolitan, Central, Western, and Capital.
Three of the regions elect 2 representatives each from the following categories; the Metropolitan region elects 3 representatives each:
- Providers of WIC services (e.g. local health program)
- Consumers of WIC services (our clients)
- Advocates (persons outside of WIC with an interest in promoting the program and/or serving its eligible population)
The maximum number of members that can serve on the board is 27.
From its inception in 1978, the Association has sought the participation of consumers for our Board of Directors to ensure that they have a voice in formulating and carrying out our policies and activities.
